The History of Copa América

The Copa América is a football rivalry between South American public groups. Since 1993, Mexico has additionally been among the members and other public groups have sporadically been welcomed also. Initially, the competition was held each year, which was subsequently changed to each and every other year. Copa América was initially named the South American Football Title (Campeonato Sudamericano de Fútbol in Spanish). In 1975, the competition was renamed Copa América.

History

Among the non-unique countries, none have so far won the competition; Mexico have been nearest with two second places.
